Digital Marketing Strategist

Minimum 12 months experience in the Digital Marketing or web industry


Digital Marketing Strategists at Webspec are responsible for providing strategic direction for each digital marketing client, executing various tasks that are important to carrying out digital goals, and providing backup support for Account Leads. These team members are integral to upholding the digital strategy of each client and making sure that all tasks are in the best interest of the client’s business. Digital Marketing Strategists are working towards honing their skills in all aspects of digital marketing, client relations, and web design, but are more comfortable with carrying out these tasks on their own than Coordinators. Strategists are also confident in their communication skills regarding common digital marketing topics and questions, but are more integral behind the scenes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Mass Communication, English or other related field
  • At least 30 hours of availability per week (40 hours per week preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of popular social media and advertising platforms
  • Knowledge of SEO, WordPress, and Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Knowledge of current marketing strategies and how to apply them to clients in a wide range of industries
  • Knowledge of Google Marketing Platforms, including Google Analytics, Search Console and Tag Manager

Compensation

Responsibilities

A successful Digital Marketing Strategist contributes to the success of our team and our clients by:

  • Demonstrating an intermediate level of knowledge of technical SEO best practices, industry trends and digital marketing topics
  • Taking ownership of establishing the overall strategic approach for each client campaign
  • Delegating tasks to the Coordinator when applicable and ensuring their work is accurate and meets the client’s standards
  • Analyzing data and communicating relevant points about a client’s digital strategy and performance to the Account Lead
  • Maintaining at least one one advanced certification in Google Ads, Analytics, or relevant social media training, working towards a second area of proficiency
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of content strategy and how to implement that on websites
  • Serving as the relationship owner for smaller client accounts with assistance from Coordinators as needed
  • Providing a high-caliber level of strategic direction for client campaigns
  • Successfully running social media campaigns, using Facebook ad manager, insights, performing technical SEO tasks, and auditing sites for SEO health
